Multidisciplinary Management of Continence: Basic Principals

Workshop Overview

Are you a health professional who supports clients with urinary or faecal incontinence and wish you had more confidence in how to help them?
Or are you interested in working within a continence service, or expanding your current role to include continence care, and want to strengthen your foundational knowledge?

This practical, introductory workshop will help you build confidence in continence assessment and management through a multidisciplinary lens.

Who should attend

Ideal for clinicians working in Aged Care, Rehabilitation, Community, or Primary Care settings — including all Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Case Managers, Nurse Practitioners, Specialist General Practitioners and Specialist Physicians.

What to expect at the workshop:

The session will be co-facilitated by a Geriatric Medicine Advanced Trainee, Senior Continence Nurse Consultant, and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist. Together, we’ll explore:

  • Pelvic floor anatomy and bladder physiology 
  • Healthy bladder and bowel lifestyle advice 
  • Overactive bladder and stress incontinence management pathways 
  • How to use bladder diaries and bowel charts effectively 
  • When and how to refer for urodynamics

Join us for a collaborative, hands-on learning experience that brings together medical, nursing, and physiotherapy perspectives to support better continence care for your clients.

Pelvic Floor Ultrasound - Basic Workshop for Beginners

What to expect at the workshop:

> Learn about ultrasound image optimisation. 

> The application of bedside imaging with ultrasound in the clinical setting.

> Bladder assessment with ultrasound.

> Pelvic floor assessment with ultrasound.

> Kidneys (limited) assessment with ultrasound.

> Male & female case studies will be discussed.

> Approximately 2 hours of hands-on scanning.
